Nendo (Oki Sato)

Biography

Oki Sato is the chief designer and founder of the “Nendo” studio. He was born in Toronto, Canada, in 1977. He received his Master of Architecture degree from Tokyo Waseda University in 2002 and founded the “Nendo” design studio in the same year. Chosen by Newsweek magazine as one of “The 100 Most Respected Japanese”, he has won numerous major awards such as “Designer of the Year” from Wallpaper magazine, Elle Deco magazine and “Guest of Honour” from Stockholm Furniture Fair. He was named “Designer of the Year” by Maison & Objet in 2015. He designed the Flow Bowl storage tables (2017), the Okome system (2016) and the Okome Sofa and Okome bed (2018) for Alias.
